The Supreme Court has handed over to the National High Court part of the investigation into Ábalos, Cerdán and García
The Supreme Court has announced that it is not competent to investigate the former Minister's resignation from the Act of Deputies.
Supreme Court Judge Leopoldo Puente has made available to the National High Courtone of the pieces of the Koldo case investigating the possible commission of public works fraud.
This piece includes former Minister José Luis Ábalos , his adviser Koldo García , businessman Victor de Aldama and former PSOE Secretary of Organization Santos Cerdán .
The Supreme Court states in an order that, with Ábalos's waiver of the Deputy's Act, the court has not lost its jurisdiction to investigate the case (the Supreme Court has jurisdiction to investigate those who are aphored).
It was in September that this piece of alleged machinations began, after detecting incidents in public works awards, and the Supreme Court had just begun an investigation .
Thus, the Supreme Court now has only the central piece of the Koldo case, which investigates irregularities in the purchase of masks during the pandemic. The oral trial is scheduled for April. However, according to legal sources consulted by EFE, the defenses may argue that the Supreme Court is not competent in this matter.
The National High Courtis investigating several other lines of the Koldo case, including 2017-2024, the alleged cash payments made by the PSOE to leaders, workers and militants and what is known as the "hydrocarbon case", which investigates the alleged fraud committed by the Villafuel company.
