Etxanobe and Bengoetxea They move on to the second round of the PNV primary in Bizkaia
The electoral process will culminate in the Territorial Assemblies of 11 November in Bizkaia and the Territorial Assemblies of 12 in Álava and Gipuzkoa.
The bases of the PNV began voting on the candidacies for the General Meetings on Wednesday in the municipal assemblies and in Bizkaia, Elixabete Etxanobe and Ibone Bengoetxea managed to move to the second round of the primary by winning at least two municipal assemblies, according to EITB MEDIA.
The voting process will conclude with the November 11Provincial Assembly in Bizkaia and the November 12Assembly in Álava and Gipuzkoa, with Bizkaia having the most contested candidate because Etxanobe has not ruled out, on the basis of his name, continuing this process after the Bizkai Buru Batzar decided to opt for Ibone Bengoetxea.
The first round, which began this Wednesday and will last until next Sunday, the 25th, is a deadline within which members can nominate other candidates even if they do not have the proposals made by the Regional Head Board (Eider Mendoza, in Gipuzkoa; Ibone Bengoetxea, in Bizkaia; and Ramiro González, in Álava).
Ibone Bengoetxea was nominated by the BBB on 8 October as General Deputy of Bizkaia. The following day, Elixabete Etxanobe admitted to being "surprised" by the announcement and stressed that he did not know "the reasons for the change", after the PNV president of Bizkaia, Iñigo Ansola, told him in March that he would be running again.
In this regard, he has been asked whether he intends to continue in the competition and Etxanob has said that "the last word is the members".
