Chivite insists that the UCO report does not mention the award of the works of the Belate tunnels
The President of Navarre, in response to questions from UPN and PPN, recalled that the award was not questioned in the report of the House of Auditors of Navarre either.
The President of the Government of Navarre, María Chivite, has made it clear in the Foral Regime Committee of the Navarre Parliament thatthe report of the UCO group of the Civil Guard on the alleged corruption cases of the socialist Santos Cerdán does not mention the award of the works of the tunnels of Belate, much of which was taken over by the group of companies formed by Acciona and Servinabar.
Chivite has responded in committee to questions from UPN and PPN, which have called for the resignation of the president and recalled that his government donated EUR 76 million to the temporary union of companies formed by Acciona and Servinabar, 45% of which belonged to Cerdán.
The President, who has given all the explanations in the presence of Cohesion Adviser Oscar Chivite, has insisted that the Navarre Chamber of Auditors did not question the award of the contract either, although he gave some advice to improve the process.
The PSN president has stressed that there has been no "indication of illegality" in the award of the contract and that neither he nor the counsellor award public works contracts.
He further clarifies that they could not know that 45% of Servinabar's company belonged to Cerdán: "Under no circumstances could the Administration know the Servinabar corporate agreement, which was in a private document."
Finally, he points out that the Government of Navarre has already taken steps to examine all the awards granted to the aforementioned business association, since he says that his will is "to know everything that needs to be known".
