The Prefecture of the Atlantic Pyrenees has sued four houses in the North Basque Country for hanging the Palestinian flag
It accuses the houses of the people of Urruña, Ozaze, Izura and Itsasu of violating the neutrality envisaged in the civil service. Ipar Four other houses of the Basque people have also raised the Palestinian flag and it remains to be seen whether the Prefecture initiates proceedings against them.
Yesterday, on the same day that France recognized the State of Palestine, several houses in the Basque Country hung the flag of Palestine, even though the Prefecture had previously warned them not to do so.
The next day the Prefecture of the Atlantic Pyrenees reports that it hassued four houses in the village — Urruña, Ozaze, Izura, and Itsasu — accusing them of violating the neutrality envisaged in the civil service.
Four other houses in the northern Basque Country also hoisted the Palestinian flag yesterday, and it remains to be seen whether the Prefecture initiates proceedings against them.
Last week, the prefect charged the house of the town of Maule with hanging the Palestinian flag. The Pau Court proved him right and sentenced him to an administrative fine.
A total of 80 houses throughout France hung the Palestinian flag yesterday.
