In additionto the case of the Vitorian Aritz Ibarra, hundreds of citizens today regretted that nearly 30 other people had to receive medical care as a result of the clashes at the Spanish Falange rally on 12 October in the Plaza de los Fueros in Vitoria-Gasteiz. They have reported that other young people have suffered injuries such as bone fractures, tooth fractures and severe eye injuries.
They have also accused the Ertzainas of joining the Falangists against those facing them: "The Ertzaintza acted several times with fascist groups against those who tried to boycott the mobilization, not to protect public security." They have also lamented the fact that the police acted to "cause as much harm as possible" to the activists.
They therefore request the filing of the case against those who were harassed and the opening of internal investigations in the Ertzaintza.
On the occasion of last Sunday's rally of the Spanish Falange, there were incidents between those fighting the ultra-right-wing party and the Ertzainas, and at least one complaint has been lodged against Aritz Ibarra for injuries caused by a Ertzaintza ball, which the young man explained was shot in the face by an ertzaina a few metres away.
