As confirmed by legal sources, Gonzalez has denied all charges against him when answering questions from the lawyer and the judge, and the judge has made this decision on the basis of his explanations.
In the initial indictment, he pleaded guilty toan alleged offence of embezzlement of public funds , "in the form of omission", for "not having prevented Alvarez from doing private work for Begoña Gómez", according to Peinado's first decision.
Gonzalez was the fifth person investigated in this procedure, together with Gomez, Alvarez, Francisco Martín Aguirre - the person who preceded Gonzalez in office in 2023 - and businessman Juan Carlos Barrabés, so, following today's statement, the judge has decided to file the case against him.
