On Wednesday, the Civil Guard arrested former socialist militant Leire Díez for alleged irregularities in the public procurement of the State Industrial Holdings Society, as confirmed to Europa Press by sources of the case.
The sources consulted have specified that the operation has been initiated on the order of the National High Court in the context of a case which is under secret investigation and in which the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office is also involved.
Diez is being investigated for alleged trafficking in influence and bribery in a case led by the head of Madrid Examining Court No. 9, Judge Arturo Zamarriego, who took a statement on 11 November for allegedly providing favours in exchange for information against members of the Armed Institute and the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office.
