\ u00A0PSOE investigates several recent complaints of sexual harassment and harassment at work. In this regard, the Deputy Secretary of the PSPV in the province of Valencia and Mayor of Almussafes,Toni González , has filed a double complaint. Mayor ofBelalcazar, Francisco Luis Fernandez Rodriguez, has resigned for another alleged case of sexual harassment.
The investigation against the Valencian socialist leader was released on Friday afternoon on the same day that the PSOE Equality officials held a meeting in Ferraz onthe occasion of the crisis following allegations of sexual harassment .
The complaint filed against Gonzalez is the first to affect a PSPV-PSOE official after the case of those related to former Moncloa adviserPaco Salazar wasrevealed. The PSOE insists that he made a "very serious" mistake, and his right hand, Antonio Hernández , has also been expedited\u00A0in Moncloa.
Faced with these facts, Gonzalez has assured that the charges brought against him are "absolutely false"and has announced that he will go to court to defend his innocence.
For his part, Fernandez has lamented that "at the time there wasa misplaced dialogue , a disrespect "that he did not then attach its importance to, so he has pointed out that it pains him to see that his actions could cause"confusion or unease"and has assumed" full responsibility ".
It appears that the mayor of Belalcazar sent several messages viaWhatsApp from March 2023 until the beginning of this year in which he expressed his "great desire" to a municipal service employee.
"I know that respect and integrity are fundamental values in any public office and I recognizethat I have not lived up to the expectations that citizens have of the mayor, "said Fernández." With this step back, I want to allow the municipality of Belalcazar to continue with renewed leadership and serenity, because my mistake will not affect the work of those who will continue to lead the City Council, "he added.
In this context, the Secretary for Equality of the PSdeG, Silvia Fraga, has also resigned after learning of the complaint of sexual harassment of former President ofthe Provincial Council of Lugo Jose Tome Roca .
