Former socialist leader Santos Cerdán has claimed that he is innocent, that he is not corrupt, and that he will be able to prove it sooner or later.
He has invoked his right not to testify about "specific facts" in the judicial investigation, but Cerdán has responded to UPN Senator Maria Caballero.

In this context, he referred to the audios of the recorded conversations between him, Koldo García and former Minister José Luis Ábalos, on which the reports of the Central Operational Unit (UCO) are based, denouncing "manipulations" and urging the commission to request information from "those deep state resources that continue to prepare suspicious evidence".
"It has been established here that a Member is being persecuted directly, with the restriction of fundamental rights and without any specific justification.
