Tomorrow is election day in Aragon, a spectacle of how the PP-Vox contest will look
Polls suggest that the PP will win the vote again, but with less support than in the previous election, so it will need the far right to govern. Indeed, Vox, Chunta Aragonesista (CHA), and IU-Sumar are expected to rise, while the PSOE will decline, always according to polls.
Taking the witness to Extremadura, tomorrow, Sunday, there are autonomous elections in Aragon . It is a spectacle if the distribution of power left by the previous call remains intact, which increases the "blockade". It should be remembered that President Jorge Azcón (PP) advanced the votes by not agreeing with Voxon the 2026 budgets.
According to the polls, the People's Party will win the election again, but without an absolute majority, so it would need the extreme right to govern again. The question is to what extent Vox will conditionthe performance of Azcon.
CIS had planned for the PP a total of 25 seats (28 in the last legislature). The PSOE would retain its second seat but lose support: 17 seats (23 so far).A total of 1.03 million citizens have the right to vote. 67 deputies (35 in Zaragoza, 18 in Huesca and 14 in Teruel) will be elected.
The first results will be published at 21:30. Abstention will once again be one of the keys (33% in previous votes). Indeed, all candidates have been called to participate in anticipation of the impact of winter weather.
Dirty campaign
The election campaign in Aragon has been turbulent, and personal reproaches and attacks have been common among the candidates. The PP and Vox have been competing for the conservative vote. Feijóo and Azcone did so in Zaragoza at the end of the campaign, and in the same place, invited by the New Generations of the People's Party, the ultra-right-wing Vito Quiles made a speech.
Aware that the Aragonese elections have a direct impact on Spanish politics, the leaders of PP, PSOE, Vox and Podemos (Feijóo, Sánchez, Abascal and Belarra) have on several occasions supported the candidates of EU (Jorge Azcón, Pilar Alegría, Alejando Nolasco and María Goikoetxea respectively).
The socialist Pilar Alegría denounces the "extreme" attitude of the PP and calls on citizens to participate "not to benefit both right." The former Minister of Education believes that they are capable of improving the results predicted by the polls.
On the left, the division law. IU-Sumar and Podemos have been each other, who have seduced left-wing voters. In particular, the CHAhas the polls in favour, and instead of "relying on Madrid," Aragon has argued that it is the "only alternative" to having "its own power."
Finally, the PAR will try to turn the polls around, as most say it will lose representation.
