UPN President Cristina Ibarrola will be his party's main candidate in the next presidential election after winning 84.74% of the vote in the internal elections held this Friday by the UPN Political Council.
The regionalist president has imposed himself on the affiliates Juan Ángel García Roig and Diego Calderón Fernández. Ibarrola has won 150 votes, García Roig 1 and Calderón 323 blank.
Ibarrola thus replaces Javier Esparza, the presidential candidate in the three elections since 2015.
Cristina Ibarrola Guillén (Pamplona, 1969) will be UPN's second female presidential candidate. The previous one was Yolanda Barcina , who was president from 2011 to 2015.
