The Navarre ikastolas think there's still "room for negotiation" on educational concerts
The Navarre Parliament is debating the UPN bill on Thursday, which aims to establish criteria for changing classrooms.
The Navarre ikastolas community has pointed out that there is still "room for negotiation "to reach an agreement on educational concerts because the ikastolas believe thatthe initial agreement between P SN and Geroa Bai does not meet the demands they have made in recent weeks.
Geroa Bai said on Wednesday that she sees the pact reached with the PSN as "in jeopardy." According to the nationalist coalition, the Socialists "proposal and the one they put forward about the ikastola in Estella are far away.
The director of the Navarre Ikastolas Association, Josu Reparaz, explained at a press conference that "there is always room for negotiation." Reparaz said that "between today and tomorrow the parties could have a second chance, because agreements are not the usual alliances. If there is an opportunity to back down, add, improve and contribute."
On the occasion of the debate this Thursday in the Navarre Parliament on the UPN bill, Reparaz has stressed that "until that time comes" the possibility of dialogue remains open. "The ikastolas have always promoted dialogue as a basic tool for unblocking this situation," the director added.
For his part, the president of Nafarroako Ikastolak, Oier Sanjurjo, has censured the pact between PSN and Geroa Bai as "confusing . "For Sanjurjo, the agreement does not take into account the demands ofNavarre society and the educational community: "Today, again, it has been shown that the decision to close the classrooms of the ikastolas is arbitrary.
Sanjurjo has warned that they want to limit the future of the ikastolas, and with it they want to "set limits on continuing to network the whole of Navarre in Basque." He has therefore urged all parties in Parliament to listen to the demands of the educational community. "There is nothing clear, and that has caught us by surprise; we do not know what will happen to these seven classrooms, "said Sanjurjo.
