PSN, EH Bildu and Geroa Bai conclude that there was no corruption in the award of public works in Navarre

For UPN, however, the committee of inquiry set up in the Foral Parliament has made it even more apparent that there is evidence of corruption. All the groups have presented their conclusions today.

Thegroups participating in the Committee of Inquiry into the Cerdán case in the Navarre Parliament have today presented their conclusions on the corruption in the award of nine public works, with dozens of hearings in the last nine months.

PSN, EH Bildu and Geroa Bai have agreed and presented four main conclusions, according to which it is not possible to state that the officials of the Government of Navarre acted illegally in the award of the works, nor is there any indication that the companies related to the Foral Government engaged in corrupt activity, nor is there evidence of any kind of political intervention in the decisions of the members of the recruitment bureau.

Representatives of all parties appeared before the press, one by one, to explain their position:

PSN

In the words of PSN member Javier Lecumberri, it has become clear that there has been no corruption in the actions of the Navarre Government in recent years, although he has acknowledged that there is room for improvement in public procurement procedures and regulations.

The Socialist leader has been "satisfied" with the agreed conclusions.

EH Bildu

In the same vein, EH Bildu has also stressed that it has not been possible to confirm in the committee that political leaders and officials of the Navarre Government engaged in illegal practices in public procurement.

In any case, the spokesman for the sovereign coalition in the committee, Adolfo Araiz, has assured us that the reports that have been analysed have revealed "some breaches of rules" and "questionable positions."

Your Navarre

For its part, the governing partner  Zurekin-Navarra has not adhered to the conclusions agreed by the previous groups and has presented theirs. According to the left-wing coalition, it has been "tested" that there has been a "dark and non-transparent structural" relationship between political and economic power.

In this regard, the representative of Zurekin-Navarra, Miguel Garrido, has argued that the committee has shown that there have been "irregularities and incorrect practices" in certain contracts, especially those relating to the Belate tunnels.

UPN

On the other hand, UPN President Cristina Ibarrola points out in her conclusions that, although corruption cases have not been proven, this possibility cannot be completely ruled out because there are indications. She refers to the award of the tunnels in Belate to demand the resignation of Navarre President María Chivite.

Ibarrola believes that there are now "even stronger signs" of corruption than when the investigation was launched.

With the findings presented today, they will be examined and voted on by the committee of inquiry next week.
