Judge José Luis Calama investigates the alleged irregular use of money to rescue the airline Plus Ultra , as well as the origin of jewellery seized in Zapatero's office.
In two days, he summoned the parties (Zapatero and his defence, the prosecution and the indictments) at 9:00 a.m. In fact, the socialist leader was due to be questioned on 2 June, but thedefence asked for more time on the grounds that he did not have access to the full case file.
The judge of the Audiencia Nacional, José Luis Calama, has been investigating the irregular use of 53 million euros granted by the Spanish Government to the airline Plus Ultra for an alleged offence of trafficking in influence and its possible connection with other crimes as a criminal organization. Calama has even accused the former president of being the head of this stable and hierarchical structure of trafficking in influence.

Judge Calama has recently opened another separate piece of jewellery seized from Zapatero's office in the Plus Ultra case, in which the former chief executive is charged with tax offences and smuggling, believing that the origin of jewellery is "unjustified."
