The defence of the former head of the Spanish Government asked Judge Calama to postpone his request to have more time to collect documentation on the origin of jewellery valued at at at least 1.3 million euros.
The judge of the National High Court, José Luis Calama, has dismissed the request made by former President of the Government José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero to explain the jewels found in his office in his statement scheduled for this Wednesday.
According to initial estimates, the jewellery seized by the Central Operational Unit of the Civil Guard in the Zapatero office is valued at 1.3 million euros.
