An ertzaina has been expelled from the txosnas in Hernani; "What was his sin?" asks Zupiria

Security Counselor Bingen Zupiria on Friday expressed his solidarity with the ertzaina who was expelled this week from the Hernani txosnas area for the "sin" of being an agent of the Ertzaintza.
In response to a question from Amaya Martínez, the councillor referred to the "loss of authority" of the agents and the "hot summer" of the Basque Country "heated by the young" of the left abertzale.
"What was his sin?"
The Councillor has expressed concern about the loss of authority and has pointed out that one of the pillars of coexistence must be respect for authority, 'not authoritarianism', as well as respect for people and property.
In this regard, he has complained that during the festivities in Hernani, an officer in civilian clotheswasexpelled from the txosnas area. "What was his sin? To be an ertzaina," Zupiria has lamented.
Finally, the counsellor has explained that the support of the Basque Government extends to "all citizens who wish to be excluded because they are municipal police officers or ertzainas".
