The president of the SEPI and the former president and CEO of Tubos Reunidos are charged in the Leire case
Judge Santiago Pedraz of the National High Court has charged 25 people, all of them company managers and SEPI leaders, after finding "evidence of crime."
The judge of the Audiencia Nacional Santiago Pedraz has charged 25 people in the case investigating a plot aimed at stabilizing judicial proceedings against the PSOE or the Government, including the current president of the SEPI, Belén Gualda ; the former president of Tubos Reunidos, Francisco Irazusta ; and the general manager of this company, Carlos López de las Heras .
Having examined a letter from the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office, Pedraz has stated that there are indications of criminality .
According to him, and as stated in several UCO reports, it is the network that carried out manoeuvres to influence legal proceedings and public aid, such as receiving a commissionin exchange for obtaining a loanof EUR 112.9 million from Tubos Reunion.
According to the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office, theHiru group, allegedly composed of Leire Díez, the former president of the SEPI, Vicente Fernández, and businessman Antxon Alonso , "offered support in exchange for commissions."
In exchange for this management linked to the Alavesa company, 114,950 euros were received for market tracking services through Mediaciones Martínez, payments that contain invoices that the UCO considers "false"because the "real motivation" would be due to the efforts made by the SEPI to accept the aid to Tubos Reunion.
But Pedraz's decision extends the focus of research to other companies, and it's not limited to Tubos Reunion.
