Judge Pedraz charges Sanchez's former chief of staff and former post office president in the Leire case

Judge Santiago Pedraz has indicted Juan Manuel Serrano in theLeire case. The Civil Guard considers that he was involved in alleged obstruction of judicial proceedings involving the PSOEand the Spanish Government. In an order issued this Friday, Pedraz authorizes investigators from the Central Operational Unit (UCO) of the Civil Guard to examine the contents ofthe former post chairman's cell phone, as requested by investigators.
The Magistrate of the National High Court has taken this step after a report by the UCO highlighted Serrano's "leading role", " in relation to both the pursuit of profits in the business sphere of the SEPI and the defence of the interests of certain members of the PSOE and the Spanish Government, allegedly obstructed by judicial litigation ".
Pedraz explains in the car that until now Serrano had "diffuse responsibility"for the facts investigated and that, following the Civil Guard's report, there are indications of illegal practices in public procurement and manoeuvres in court cases.
In this context, thejudge investigates the possible involvement of former Postal Chairman Juan Manuel Serrano in alleged irregularities related to public procurement and procurement .

For these reasons, the judge of the National High Court has extended the investigation to Serrano and highlighted his association with the PSOE, with which he served as Chief of Staff of the Federal Executive Committee between 2014 and 2018.
