A few minutes before the end of the game, the referee showed a red card to a player from the Guipuzcoan team who was playing the game, so that both the incumbent players and those on the bench "surrounded him and threw themselves at him".
Part of the audience invaded the field, and security personnel protected the referee and escorted him to the locker room.
Once in the locker room, they continued to insult the referee, shouting "cipayo arbitro", "zipayo hijo de puta", "puto zipayo", "dogs" and songs against the Ertzaintza.
After learning of the incident, several Ertzainas came to the scene and when the camp was depopulated, they helped the judge to leave.
The Department of Safety and Security has "strongly" condemned the incident and expressed its solidarity with the Ertzaina, "who has been the victim of harassment and insults by the public and the players of the game."
