EH Bildu sees another example of the "onslaught" against the Euskera in the latest Supreme Court ruling
EH Bildu's MP and Euskera Normalization Secretary, Josu Aztiria, believes that the Supreme Court's latest ruling is yet another exampleof the "onslaught" against the official Euskera.
He has denounced this through a social media message: "Once again, an attack on active language policy aimed at correcting the structural inequality between Basque and Spanish."
Aztiria has also pointed out that the ruling violates the official status ofthe BasqueCountry: "The official language is a language of normal use; and true equality, giving more to those who need more. No more and no less."
The criticism ofEH Bildu follows the latest ruling of the Supreme Court confirming the ruling of the High Court of Justice of the Basque Country (TSJPV) on the linguistic conditions of subcontracted companies, whereby the Basque Government will not be able to demand "the same linguistic profiles" as officials from workers of subcontracted companies.
