Puigdemont says stopping amnesty means "going against Europe"
The former Catalan president has described the ruling of the Court of Justice of the European Union as a "resounding and political victory" for independence.
Carles Puigdemont referred to the support of the Court of Justice of the European Union (TJUE) for the amnesty law. The former president of the Generalitat "applauded" the ruling and made it clear that if the Spanish courts did not comply with the law, they would be "defying European law."
In his X account, Puigdemont has described the ruling as a "resounding victory of Catalan independence and a political victory over the powers of the Spanish state."
