Judge to question Jessica Rodriguez, former partner of Abalos, for "plugging in" Ineco and Tragsatec
The brother of Koldo García, former adviser to Ábalos, Joseba García, as well as Ignacio Zaldivar, former senior official of Adif, will testify as an investigator.
On Monday, National High Court Judge Ismael Moreno will question Jessica Rodríguez , former partner of former MinisterJosé Luis Abalos , as charged with alleged trafficking in influence and embezzlement related to her hiring in public companies Ineco and Tragsatec.
The brother of Koldo García, former adviser to Ábalos, Joseba García, as well as Ignacio Zaldivar, former senior official of Adif, will testify as an investigator.
In particular, Jessica Rodriguez has asked the judge to suspend her statement until the appeals against the summons are resolved.
The Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office has asked the judge to summon them after the SupremeCourt sentenced the former minister 24 years in prison and the former adviser to 19 years and eight months.
The court imposed this penalty, inter alia, on Rodriguez Ineco and Tragsat for "plugging" into public enterprises; 19 was hired between 1 March 2019 and 28 February 2021 and 2 March 2021 and 1 September 2021, both periods without any work.
The Public Prosecutor's Office considers that the hiring of Rodriguez referred to in the judgement is "closely related" to this fact investigated in the National High Court, for which the former president of Adif Isabel Pardo de Vera was charged, "in order to determine the criminal responsibilities that may arise in connection with the facts and for third parties not tried by the Supreme Court".
This would be the case of Rodriguez, as well as Joseba García, who worked in Ineco, and Ignacio Zaldivar, who was director of administrative management at Adif at the time when Abalos' former partner was working in that public company.
According to the sentence, Jessica Rodriguez did not do any work in the companies that hired her. Moreover, "the original purpose of the criminal scheme was precisely not to work, and yet to receive as a monthly salary the amounts that the two public corporations entered into her bank account."
