The Minister for Youth and Children has explained that there are 2,100 migrant children in the city, many of whom have fled from "very harsh circumstances" such as sexual violence or forced marriages.

"We need to resolve this situation. We take care ofthe part that belongs to us in the government, but the guardianship of children in a situation of helplessness is legally exercised by the autonomous communities , "he insisted.
The minister has pointed out that in many cases "these are children who are fleeingvery harsh situations "and have no family structure." There are no parents, there are no families.
Rego has also pointed out that about 700 of the migrants aregirls , "many of them minors." Among them, somehave fledvery extreme situations, such as sexual violence or forced marriages, "Rego has stressed, in these cases, the need for the organization to be" cautious and guarantor. "
The minister has pointed out that some minors have expressedtheirdesire to return to Morocco, with their families, and have therefore initiated files for this purpose, although he has recalled that these are procedures that require "legal time" because it is a family reunification and that "in a few days" the files will be sent to Morocco "to verify the existence of a family structure".
Finally, he has acknowledged that there are children in Ceuta who are not included in the reception system and has ensured that, as they are transferred to the Peninsula, the process can go 'much faster'.
