The Education Counsellor has asked that, after three days of strike last week by school canteen workers to demand an improvement in their working conditions, the previous situation should not be repeated after being called for 10, 11 and 12 March, because in some schools, students were deprived of food taken from their homes. Pedrosa has asked unions and companies "not to rise from the table" until an agreement has been reached, because they have a "good basis" for it.

The quality university linked to research, in an international context and with a social commitment, is based on the new University Act being prepared by the Basque Government, the preliminary draft of which is due to reach the Parliament in November.

The House has approved an amendment by the PNV and the PSE-EE advocating strengthening school planning and zoning to promote a more inclusive school. PP's initiative has been rejected, as has an amendment to the entire Sumar.

The Minister of Education, Begoña Pedrosa, has highlighted in her reply to the President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez, the "inclusive quality model" of vocational training in the Basque Country, which will create a royal decree to "limit" the opening of private vocational training centres and "continue to shield" the quality of training.

It would be the fourth hotel school in the Basque Country, along with the schools in Leioa, Galdakao and Gamarra.

The head of Education of ELA, Mira Zubizarreta, has recalled that the agreement of February 2024 came after 14 days of strike and that, at present, some of the "relevant contents" that were signed in that agreement "are not being complied with by the employers".

The union has denounced the failure of employers to comply with the agreement they signed in 2024 to end the strike.

The "good" attitude of Minister Geffray has been highlighted by the representatives of the Euskera Public Organization and the Basque elected members of the Assembly who have met with him, but Seaska has lamented that they have returned "empty-handed", considering that action is needed beyond their intentions, and has announced mobilizations by the end of the month.

The amendments, which Sanchez has included in the reshuffle of the Spanish Government, are aimed at gaining strength in the final part of the legislature.

The students of Hego Euskal Herria have joined the day of strike called by Ikama, with massive demonstrations in Pamplona, Vitoria-Gasteiz, Bilbao and Donostia-San Sebastián. Euskara is suffering a judicial and political onslaught and the current educational model despises the Euskera.

Joxerramon Bengoetxea has explained that the Basque Government and the UPV have been holding meetings for weeks. "We have had important contrasts between us," but both sides are "willing to seek the best agreement for both sides," he explained.

The protests will take place from Monday to Thursday. On the one hand, stops have been called from 11:00 to 12:00. On the other hand, rallies will be held at 11:15, depending on the day on one campus or another.

A thousand people have demonstrated in Bilbao, called by the Harro platform of the Basque Public School, to denounce school segregation as a "structural" problem. The platform calls for "bold policies" and criticizes that the current measures, including the segregation table, establish an "unfair" system. The demonstration, under the slogan "Against segregation, the public is the way!"

The system of vertical electric kitchens is pioneering, "in situ", to offer healthier menus.  Education Counselor Begoña Pedrosa has explained that in these vertical kitchens, scale pots are used, and workers "have no chance of using heavy containers." "The use of cooking is simplified by multifunctional systems, a single machine can run several processes," she said.

The Basque Government's Adviser for Science, Universities and Innovation, Juan Ignacio Pérez Iglesias, has denied that the UPV is "underfunded" and added that it is "very difficult" to reach agreements from such speeches.

In the case of harassment of Uribe Kosta High School teacher, Ekaitz Pau, mayor of Gorliz, explains that he learned of the matter when the teacher himself contacted the City Council a few days before the last attack. He says he has contacted all parties to decide what steps should be taken and stresses that this is not an isolated thing in the institute, but one that affects the whole society.

The spokesman for the Public Prosecutor's Office in Gipuzkoa, Jorge Bermudez, has reported that the commission of acts that would be considered criminal for adults under the age of 14 may be due to the inadequate role of guardianship and education of parents, and has therefore announced that civil or administrative measures may be taken in such cases for families.
