Due to the favourable development of the forest fire, residents evacuated from 19 population centres (more than 1,000) will begin to return to their homes today. 

Dozens of fires have ravaged the entire continent this summer. According to data from the European Forest Fire Information System (EFFIS), 576,027 hectares were burned in the territory until August 12.

Fire fighters from the parks of Llodio, Nanclares and Espejo, members of the Agricultural Brigade, bulldozers led by rangers and an Emergency helicopter are working.

Most efforts will focus again on Mount Oroel near Jaca in the next few hours, temperatures will rise and the wind is expected to complicate the situation.

The General Secretary of the Landes Prefecture warned, however, that "the fact that the fire is under control does not mean that it is extinguished, so we must be very vigilant."

The extinction operation will have about 1,000 people on Sunday, including a hundred French firefighters, and the fire has already affected some 16,600 hectares.

Firefighters are still unable to control the forest fire in Huelva. The flames in the Fog area continue and have already burned down an area of 20,000 hectares, forcing hundreds of people to leave their homes.

In Castellón, the fire in Culla is already under control and the fire in Serra d'en Galceran is developing favourably, while the flames continue to advance in Tirig. In Niebla (Huelva), the fire is still active and 4,000 hectares have already been burned.
