Thousands of Gazans have already begun to leave their shelters in the south of the city and return to Gaza, while many Israelite soldiers have not yet crossed the "yellow line", as the exchange of hostages and prisoners has not yet taken place.

It appears that the US President is planning to hold a sort of summit on Gaza in Egypt, where he intends to meet European and Arab leaders at the beginning of next week.

EITB will tell firsthand everything that happens in Gaza and Israel in the early hours of the truce. Xabier Madariaga is in Gaza. He has seen many Gazatis return to their homes or to what remains, to northern Gaza, after the end of the attacks. 

Thus, Israeli troops have begun to leave Gaza, and the 72-hour deadline for Hamas to release the hostages has begun.

Once the agreement with Hamas has been ratified, the ceasefire should enter into force within a maximum of 24 hours. The agreement also stipulates that the exchange of hostages with Palestinian prisoners must take place within a maximum of 72 hours. 

US, Arab and Turkish mediators have given them assurances of an end to the war, as explained by Khalil Al-Hayya, a senior Hamas official and member of the negotiating team.

Representatives of the LAB and Steilas unions have appeared in Vitoria-Gasteiz to explain their support for the day of unemployment called for on 15 October in Education. They have called on all members of the educational community to participate in the demonstrations in towns and cities and to show their support for Palestine.

The President of the United States has stated that he will travel to Egypt to sign the agreement reached.

The United Nations will manage the distribution of this aid, as they did before. The EITB correspondent in the Middle East, Mikel Ayestaran, has explained that "the situation in Gaza is extreme and the priority is to combat famine. Israel has used hunger as a weapon over the past two years."

Barbara Ruiz Balzola, head of UNRWA Euskadi, said they are waiting for Israel's permission to enter Gaza and begin distributing aid. "The situation in Gaza is apocalyptic. 50,000 children suffer from acute malnutrition."

The head of EITB International has pointed out that the details of the agreement between Hamas and Israel are not yet known, but that "an agreement involving the silencing of weapons is always good news."  

Khan Yunis Gazatis have taken to the streets to celebrate the first phase of the agreement reached this Thursday between Israel and Hamas, while families of Israeli hostages have urged Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to accept the agreement as soon as possible in order to avoid "serious consequences for the hostages and soldiers."

EITB's Middle East correspondent, Mikel Ayestaran, has explained that the ceasefire agreed between Israel and Hamas will enter into force at noon (11 a.m. in the Basque Country). Thereafter, a period of 72 hours will be opened to implement what was agreed in the first phase of the peace plan for Gaza, including the exchange of hostages and Palestinian prisoners and the partial withdrawal of the Israeli army.

The action has been repelled by the Gaztetxe of Azpeitia through a video on its social networks showing young people climbing the stairs and removing the Palestinian flag from the balcony of the batzoki. In a statement, the PNV accuses the Socialist Youth Coordinator of "harming the Palestinian people by making an abominable pseudo-partisan policy".

In the first phase of the peace plan agreed this Thursday by Israel and Hamas, Israel should cease its offensive in the Gaza Strip, surrender all the hostages killed and alive by Israel Hamas, and release nearly 2,000 Palestinian prisoners by Israel.

Hamas has announced the exchange on the third day of talks. The US Middle East envoy, Steve Witkoff, and Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, have arrived in Egypt to participate in the negotiations.

The Gaza Way campaign has reported that the Israeli Army has attacked them in "international waters" 110 nautical miles off the coast of the Gaza Strip. 140 peoplewere on board, including doctors, journalists and elected officials, with humanitarian aid of more than $110,000.

Although the discretion of the talks so far is absolute, nearby sources have confirmed that the atmosphere is "positive." According to several Egyptian media outlets, there may be a temporary deal on the table on Thursday or Friday. 

There are very few foreigners who can enter Gaza. One of them is the Getxo doctor, Aitor Zabalgogeaskoa, who is the coordinator of Médecins sans Frontières and has travelled to Gaza for the second time. He has told EITB about the situation in hospitals.
