US, Arab and Turkish mediators have given them assurances of an end to the war, as explained by Khalil Al-Hayya, a senior Hamas official and member of the negotiating team.

Khan Yunis Gazatis have taken to the streets to celebrate the first phase of the agreement reached this Thursday between Israel and Hamas, while families of Israeli hostages have urged Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to accept the agreement as soon as possible in order to avoid "serious consequences for the hostages and soldiers."

EITB's Middle East correspondent, Mikel Ayestaran, has explained that the ceasefire agreed between Israel and Hamas will enter into force at noon (11 a.m. in the Basque Country). All workers in the education sector are called on to strike, from children's schools to university.
