Osasunahas decided to set up a commission of inquiry to clarify the events following the match against Real Madrid in El Sadar . The body will work "with the greatest possible independence and guarantees" and may propose measures to prevent similar events from happening again.
The decision was taken at an extraordinary meeting of the Board of Directors at which the club expressedits "deep concern" aboutthe violence at the south bottom of the stadium, as well as the panic experienced by fans who left the field after the match.
At the same time, the club has highlightedthe civic behavior of most participants and rejected the general "criminalization" of fans.
The commission shall consist of Mikel Vivanco, Endika Rodríguez and Celso Galar, who shall be responsible for collecting testimony, taking testimony from witnesses and persons involved and analysing all information in order to determine the facts and responsibilities.
The club has ensured that it will cooperate to ensure maximum transparency and that partners and fans know how the events took place, and that the committee will be able to propose organizational changes, including a review of who should lead the stadium's security.
In this context, the management has expressed its agreement with the statements made by the spokesman for the Government of Navarre, Javier Remírez, and will call for a meeting with the Government of Navarre to work together on security management at events in El Sadar.
