CAF workers respond to management Jerusalem tram serves to "consolidate occupation" and call for unemployment
The works council of the CAF plant has attacked the report that the management sent to the National Securities and Exchange Centre on the project in Jerusalem on 26 September and has denounced that the trams they produce at the plant "will serve to consolidate the Israeli occupation, which is an instrument of colonization".
Thus, on Wednesday, 1 October, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., workers will be called to unemployment, and a rally will be held in front of the company's headquarters in Beasain (Gipuzkoa) to hold the authorities accountable who have ignored the workers' request and continue to "endorse the thesis of the occupying country".
In fact, the works council believes that the company "assumes no responsibility" and "completely conceals" its responsibility.
"The management of CAF has missed the opportunity to take a step aside, as we workers have been insisting since 2018. Instead of taking responsibility and trying to find ways to remove the company from this project and from Israel, it assumes the thesis of the occupying country and seeks to justify its image by refuting the arguments of the UN itself," the works council explained.
