The Dikar Cooperative of the Mondragon Corporation has acquired the textile company Ternua through a creditor competition approved by the Donostia-San Sebastián Commercial Court No. 1.
The operation, in which the Mondragon Corporation participates, aims to "strengthenits commitment to the territory and its commitment to the Basque industry ".
The cooperative, which has not disclosed how much it will pay for the sale of Newfoundland, has been presented as a "diversification strategy" to strengthen its position in the outdoor sector, competing in the market with the Columbus brand, which specializes in equipment for outdoor activities.
The cooperative has stated that " it is a question of preserving the talent, culture and commitment that have made Newfoundland as it is today, integrating their experience into a shared project and strengthening the business ecosystem of the Basque Country ".
