The Basque Government will allocate EUR 50 million more to the programme to transform the industrial fabric through technological development
The amount earmarked for the Hazitek programmes, which are part of the measures to deal with the conflict in the Middle East, will amount to EUR 169 million.
On Tuesday, the Basque Governing Council approved an increase of EUR 50 million in the Hazitek programme, so that the allocation of the Hazitek programme for the transformation of the Basque industrial fabric through technological development will be EUR 169 million.
The Basque Council for Industry, Energy Transition and Sustainability, Mikel Jauregi, announced this measure as part of the first package of covert industrial measures in the Basque Country to address the effects of the conflict in the Middle East.
The Government has reported that the measure has been taken following the meeting of the Industrial Protection Group and that an additional EUR 87 million has been added to the 2026 record budget for the transformation and diversification of Basque SMEs.
In total, the Basque Government will allocate EUR 277 million to aid to small and medium-sized enterprises, which is 51.4% more than in 2025.
