A man has been arrested in Vitoria on charges of assaulting his partner
The Municipal Police reported that shortly after midnight, a call to 092 requested the presence of the police at a portal in the Zabalgana neighbourhood, where, according to witnesses, a woman was asking for help in the street on suspicion of being harassed by her partner.
Upon arrival, the officers observed that the victim was being protected by several citizens and suffered various injuries, and found the alleged aggressor, who jumped onto the street from the landing of the first floor.
After hearing the accounts of both the officers and some witnesses, and in view of the woman's injuries, the alleged aggressor was arrested, while the victim had to be taken by ambulance to hospital.
