A coordination table will examine the failures in the colonies following Bernedo's allegations
Counsellor Nerea Melgosa has confirmed that the Basque Government was not aware of the complaint made by the Provincial Council of Bizkaia in 2019 about the summer camp in Bernedo.
The Basque Government and the three Members of Parliament have set up a coordination table to analyse 'the possible shortcomings of the summer camp system' and to form a new regulation, as stated at a press conference in Bilbao by the Counsellor for Welfare, Youth and Demographic Challenge, Nerea Melgosa.
Followingtheeventsof the summer camp in Bernedo (Álava) , 12 families have filed a complaint against sexual freedom.
Counsellor Melgosa reports that this coordination table has been set up "with the aim of carrying out a joint analysis of the possible failures of the system, to learn from what has happened and to strengthen procedures with all the tools available." She says that in this matter society requires "coordination, rigour and responsiveness. We must have the capacity to react so that it does not happen again."
