A group of thieves based in Madrid have been arrested after robbing Bizkaia
They stole gold pieces, luxury goods and money from homes.
The Civil Guard has arrested in Bizkaia the three members of a gang of robbers, residing in the Community of Madrid, who were travelling to the north of the peninsula to rob homes, accused of at least 38 such offences, which have caused economic damage of 150,000 euros to the victims.
The Civil Guard reported on Saturday that, after the robberies, the jewels were placed in the vehicle's hideouts before returning to Madrid.
The Civil Guard found out they were returning to Madrid after robbing three homes in Bizkaia. As a result, a police operation was activated in Briviesca (Burgos). There, the three members of the network were arrested and seized various stolen items and material used for theft.
Among the items seized are numerous pieces of gold (earrings, cords, pendants, bracelets, rings, etc.), a high-end watch, collector's coins (two of which are priced at 3,500 and 2,200 euros), and money from the latest robberies.
The detainees are charged with the offences of belonging to a criminal group and robbery with force in homes.
All three were placed at the disposal of Examining Magistrate No. 1 of Mondoñedo (Lugo), who ordered their imprisonment.
