The Basque Emergency Service has located the body of a 64-year-old man in Hondarribia, near Mount Jaizkibel, on the coast.
According to the Basque Government's Department of Security, around 1300 hours SOS Deiak has received a call warning that a person travelling on Mount Jaizkibel has fallen from a high altitude.
A helicopter from the Ertzaintza Surveillance and Rescue Unit located the body in an area of difficult access.
Once the body has been recovered, it has been transferred to the heliport of Hondarribia, where health personnel were waiting with a doctor who has certified the man's death.
