22 detainees for illegally selling medicines, one in Bizkaia
The Civil Guard launched Operation Grecofar by detecting a large number of psychotropic substances at a packaging company in Benavent, Zamora, as a result of which a large number of private prescriptions from a doctor were identified.
The Civil Guard has arrested 22 people in 13 provinces of the State, including one in Bizkaia, for illegally selling medicines over the Internet, which used to be used as drugs and used to make false medical prescriptions by supplanting the identity of a health worker.
Theoperation, called Grecofar , started when a large number of psychotropic drugs were detected at a packaging company in Benavent, Zamora. Pulling the thread, they found that all prescriptions were made in the name of a doctor and found that they were false.
The drug involved is used in drug use and is commonly taken to North Africa to be mixed with hashish and 'carcubi', known as the drug of the poor, the Civil Guard said in a statement.
Arrests have taken place in Alicante, A Coruña, Ávila, Balearic Islands, Barcelona, Bizkaia, Burgos, Granada, Madrid, Málaga, Salamanca, Santander and Valencia.
