A person dies in a house fire in Bermeo
A 73-year-old man died early this afternoon from a fire in a house in Bermeo.
The Basque Government's Department of Security has reported that, after 1.30 p.m., the Bermeo Municipal Police received a warning of a fire in a village house, and emergency services have moved to the site, where firefighters have extinguished the flames.
An unconscious man has been evacuated from the interior of the house and treated by health personnel, but unfortunately he has died at the scene.
The Ertzaintza has opened an investigation to clarify the circumstances of the incident.
