A man has been arrested on charges of stabbing the manager of a bar in Bergara
The attack appears to have occurred when the victim refused to serve a consumption and warned him that he was prohibited from entering the premises.
The Ertzaintza arrested a man in Bergara on New Year's Eve accused of stabbing the manager of a local bar.
According tothe Basque Government's Department of Security, the attack took place around 03:20 in a bar in the centre of Bergara, where the manager of reportedly refused to serve a consumption and warned him that he was prohibited from entering the premises.
At one point, the client pulls out a knife and lashes out at the waiter, causing a hand wound. As he leaves the bar, he hurts another customer and a person who witnessed the incident on his shoulder.
After learning of the incident, the Ertzainas have begun the search for the alleged aggressor, who was located shortly thereafter in another nearby premises and arrested on charges of injury , as well as finding the knife hidden in his clothes.
The55-year-olddetainee has been transferred to police stations for appropriate proceedings and will be brought before the court within the next few hours.
