A man has been arrested in Vitoria-Gasteiz for kidnapping and house fortification
The Ertzaintza arrested a man in Vitoria-Gasteiz on Friday afternoon for barricading himself at home with several people and threatening them with a knife.
The events took place in a house on Legutiano Street in the Alavesa capital. Around 16:00 in the afternoon a roommate of the detainee called the Ertzaintza warning that this person had abducted several people at home.
The Ertzaintza and the fire brigade have moved to the scene and managed to remove several hostages from a window, while a Ertzaintza negotiator has been talking to the kidnapper and managed to enter the house around 6:40 p.m.
The kidnapper was taken into custody.
