More than half of the scares are women in Osakidetza
On the occasion of International Women's Scientists' Day, Osakidetza has stressed that 66.5 per cent of its researchers are women, 42.5 per cent of whom lead research groups.
Of the 2,622 researchers in Osakidetza, 66.5% are women and, within the group of women researchers, 42.52% are responsible for research groups, according to data published this Wednesdayby the Department of Health of the Basque Government and the Basque Health Service on the occasion of the International Day of Women Scientists .
The Department of Health and Osakidetza have recalled that women "play a crucial role in scientific and technological communities and their participation must be strengthened ".
In this regard, progress in women's leadership in researchhas been highlighted . In Osakidetza, of the2,622 health researchers , 1,745 are women, 66.55 per cent are women and 33.44 per cent are men, and 42.52 per cent are women researchers.
On International Day of Women Scientists, Osakidetza has highlighted the progress made and expressed its "commitment to continue promotingthe participation of women in research and innovation .
In this regard, the Department of Health recalls thatworkon the Equality of Women and Men in Osakidetza 2025-2028 P "explicitly reflects this commitment, especially in recognition of innovation and research, and aims toincrease the presence, visibility and leadership of women in these key areas for the future of the health system ".
Osakidetza has assured that"the path taken is important and continues to advance the road map so that more and more women can research, innovate and lead projects that transform health and science. "
