Navarra has activated 4.7 million to accelerate the use of electric cars
The new 'Lightning Auto' plan strengthens aid of up to EUR 5 500 per vehicle and direct aid to infrastructure.
The Government of Navarrehas launched the aidprogramme "Lightning Auto" ,with own funds of 4.7 million euros, toboost the purchase of electric vehicles and expand the network of charging points.
Of the total budget, 3.7 million will be earmarked for the purchase of electric vehicles and one millionfor the installation of charging infrastructures, an initiative presented by the Industry, Ecological and Digital Transition Adviser, Mikel Irujo, who stressed that the aim is to accelerate the transition to electric mobility and strengthen the nearby European industry.
The plan provides for direct aid of up to EUR 5 500 for the purchase of pure electric vehicles produced by European companies and up to EUR 3 000 for those manufactured outside Europe, thereby betting on strengthening the industrial fabric of the area.
Ainhoa Garmendia, head of Iberdrola's cargo stations, during her presentation in Pamplona, stressed the importance of public-private collaboration, which currently has around 350 charging pointsin Navarre.
For his part, the president of the Navarra Association of Vehicle Repair Workshops, Carlos Sagüés, has pointed out that in Navarre there are already more than 34.2% ofelectric vehicles , exceeding the previously established electrification target .
It should be recalled that since 2021, through the MOVES State programme, theGovernment of Navarre has managed more than 8,500 applications for s for electric vehicles, amounting to EUR 30.7 million.
