A hundred Spanish police officers have been arrested or investigated over the past five years for their links to drug trafficking
In response to a question from EH Bildu, the Spanish Government has reported that 106 officers have been arrested or investigated since 2021, although it has not specified which police service each person investigated or detained belongs to.
About 100 police officersofthe Spanish Security Forces have been investigated or arrested in the last five years for their connection to drug trafficking , according to data accumulated by the Ministry of the Interior since 2021.
In 2025, for example, 24 officers were arrested, the same number as in 2023 and the largest in the last five years.
The data have been released in response to a question from EH Bildu to the Spanish Government, without specifying the police service to which each of the officers arrested or investigated belongs.
It was precisely EH Bildu MP Jon Iñárritu who asked the question in Congress.
He also asked for explanations about the case of the Civil Guard who was arrested in November 2025 at the port of Bilbao for transporting 120 kilos of cocaine.You might like
