A 25-year-old man was arrested this Sunday inthe Zorroza\u00A0 neighbourhood of Bilbao on charges of burning two containers andcausing material damage to public furniture . It is also being investigated whether he has caused fires in eight other containers in the area. Two vehicles parked next to the containers have suffered significant damage.
The Ertzaintza arrested this morning on Fray Juan Street in the Zorroza district of Bilbao the man who burned two containers thanks to citizen cooperation, according to the Basque Government's Department of Security.
It coincided with the description given by the witnesses, and the young man confessed to burning two containers on Fray Juan Street. The moment he was arrested he was carrying a lighter with theintention of revitalizing the fire.
Officers inspected the burnt containers in the Zorroza neighbourhood and found they were a few metres away.
Once arrested, the suspect has been transferred to police stationsto carry out the necessary procedures and will be brought before the court once they have been completed.
The Ertzaintza keeps the investigation open to determine whether the detainee is involved in the burning of several containers in the Zorroza district of Bilbao this morning and in other fires on Fray Juan Street on Saturday morning.
