CC OO, not participating in the Korrika: "They've put us on the enemy side."

The General Secretary ofCCOO of the Basque Country, Santi Martinez, has once again denounced the "social apartheid" that has led to his non-participation in the 24th edition of the Korrika , regretting that the race for the Basque Country was "a meeting point for people with different trajectories". He has stated that "there is no longer any disagreement of opinion in the defence of the Basque Country, there are friends and enemies."

In an interview with Herri Irratia, Martínez believes that the fact that CCOO in the Basque Country does not carry the witness of Korrika is "a veto on the organization" and responds to "precedents". In addition, he has stressed that the union hasa position of  "in favour of promoting the Euskera".

In this regard, it mentions that appeals have been lodged for certain OPEs for failure to comply with the Basque Decree on "mandatory" language profiles, in order to "link the determination of certain posts to sociolinguistic reality".

Thus, it has denied that "under no circumstances" is there a "judicial attack" that is denounced from different quarters, but that "at most there is a concerted action by certain Basque public administrations that systematically violates the mandatory index of compliance in the profiling decree, which is Basque legislation".

CCOO of the Basque Country has stated that the "winning" of the union in the courts has provoked a "double reaction"in politics , with PNV and EH Bildu as "protagonists", who have sought to establish a "mandatory compliance index" and another between the unions, ELA and LAB, which have held "rallies in front of the courts to demand that they appeal the sentences that save the jobs."

He added that there has been a "reaction for months" to the fact that the eta union has been "attacked and raped" by "many homes with graffiti" that they consider to be "enemies of the Euskera", as well as "attacks on social media" and now the "veto" of Korrika.

As he explained, the union has received "callsand active solidarity from Podemos, Ezker Anitza, Sumar, the Basque Nationalist Party represented in the Basque Government and the PSE ".

"But we have not received any calls from Bildu , for instance. And it's not about sharing our language policy, it's about not perceiving that we're second-class citizens. I don't know if the lines to call Uriarte have collapsed in solidarity with Bildu.
