Seven people injured in a fire in a housing block in Lodosa
One of the victims has severe burns and is expected to be taken to Cruces Hospital. Six families have been evicted and will spend the night at the home of acquaintances and relatives, as well as at a local hostel.
Seven people were taken to hospital this Tuesday with smoke inhalation and burnsin a fire in a house in the Navarre town of Lodosa.
A 77-year-old woman has been taken by helicopter to the Navarra University Hospital Complex in Pamplona with severe burns to her body and face, after which she is expected to be transferred to the Cruces University Hospital in Barakaldo.
The other six persons have been taken to García Orcoyen Hospital in Estella, four of them women: a 27-year-old woman has been evacuated in a medicalized ambulance for smoke inhalation, while three others, aged 66, 43 and 52, have been evacuated in basic life-support ambulances, including smoke inhalation.
In addition, a 7-year-old girl and a 3-year-old boy have also been taken to García Orcoyen Hospital in Estella for smoke inhalation.
The SOS Navarra 112 Emergency Management Centre received notice of the accident at 4.44 p.m. and fire fighters from the parks of Lodosa and Peralta, four basic life-support ambulances, two advanced life-support ambulances (medicalized), a medicalized helicopter and patrols of the local police, the Foral Police and the Civil Guard have moved to the scene.
The fire started on a second floor of a three-storey building on El Aire Street in Lodosa, causing numerous smoke and serious damage.
The fire was suffocated at 6.50 p.m., after which the firefighters carried out refreshment and ventilation work on all the houses in the building, which hasso far been sealed off and the evacuated neighbours will be relocated by the Lodosa City Council.
