A man has been arrested in Bilbao for attempted murder
The Ertzaintza has arrested in Bilbao a 23-year-old man accused of attempted murder in connection with a fight that took place on 9 April at night in a bingo in the city centre.
The events began around 22:00 in an argument between the two men. The quarrel began inside the bingo, but they went into the street, where the assailant stabbed the victim three times, two in the back and one in the abdomen, the latter of great gravity.
After receiving numerous warnings, the Ertzaintza patrols went to the scene, but found no one at first, and located the victim onthe ground near there, and the officers provided him with first aid until the arrival of the health personnel, after which he was taken to Cruces hospital in a serious condition.
In the context of the investigation, a witness identified the alleged aggressor, and the officers also found a blood-stained knife lying near the scene of the incident near a container, and traced the search operation.
Finally, on Friday afternoon, the suspect was arrested in the Old Town of Bilbao in blood-stained clothes and a screwdriver in his hand. The detainee, a young man with a record, will be taken to court, while the victim remains in hospital, stable and outof danger.
