Concentration of former La Salle students in San Sebastian.
The former students of La Salle in San Sebastian have concentrated this Saturday to denounce the sexual abuse committed for years by former professor and director Patxi Ezkiaga and the context that allowed these events to continue over time.
Former protesting students claim that what initially appeared to be isolated cases was the "tip of the iceberg" of a broader reality. They say there was an "ecosystem" that facilitated abuse for nearly three decades.
In the statement read at the rally, the former students express their "seamless" support for the victims and condemn the abuse and lack of protection against minors. They also strongly criticize the centre's actions over the past two years, accusing it of revictimizing those affected, weakening its unity and blocking real collective reparation.
Among their main demands, they have highlighted the school 's demands for an immediate changeof attitude, for victims to take on the five demands made through the Ararteko and for a "decent" collective reparation process . They have also warned that as long as these changes do not occur, the organization remains "dirty and contaminated".
Finally, the group has announced that it will continue to organize and mobilize. They have claimed the right to know the whole truth and have stressed that victims have the right to truth, justice and reparation.
