The Ertzaintza has arrested a 28-year-old man in Vitoria-Gasteiz for sexually assaulting his former partner last week in Salvatierra, in violation of a restraining order.
According to the Basque Government's Department of Security, the events that led to the arrest took place last week in Salvatierra. The aggressor forcibly took the victim from the Alavesa capital. Although he had a restraining order against the woman, he approached her, put her in a vehicle and took her to Salvatierra.
He had sexually assaulted her in a house in Salvatierra, where he had previously threatened her with death, and this was not the first time he had violated the restraining order.
The detainee, who has a police record of gender-based violence, was taken to court yesterday, Friday, and ordered to be imprisoned.
