Two minors aged 14 and 17 have been arrested in Irun for assaulting a taxi driver
The Public Prosecutor's Office has decided to release one of them and put the youngest in a facility.
The Ertzaintza has arrested two minors aged 14 and 17 for assaulting a taxi driver in Irun last month, according to the Basque Government's Department of Security.
The attack took place in April in the old town of Irun. The taxi driver had the window of his car open, and a group of young men threw a liquid into his vehicle.
The taxi driver got out of the car, and two of them hit him in the face, breaking his jaw and injuring his ear.
The victim, a 58-year-old man , was stunned and lying on the street. Later, he was taken to a hospital, where he had to be operated on a few days later.
Following the complaint lodged with the Ertzaintza, an investigation was opened to identify the two alleged perpetrators of the attack. Finally, the two minors were located on Friday in Irun and both were arrested on charges of injury.
They both had a record even though they were minors. The prosecution has decided to release one of them and put the youngest in a facility.
