The old industrial estate in the Rekalde district of Bilbao will be transformed into a new space with housing and free spaces for citizens, with 400 new homes, 40% public protection, and 2950 square meters of green space and public free space.
Bilbao City Council expects the construction of these homes to begin next year if everything goes "well".
The project envisages the development of 400 new housing units, 40 per cent of which will be subject to some form of public protection, and will therefore be both VPO and rated housing.
In addition, some of these properties must necessarily be used for rent.
There will also be two municipal buildings (about 1500 or 1700 square meters each), green areas and a pedestrian corridor from the Larraskitu road to Ametzola Park.
The area to be operated is 17538 square meters and is located between two streets: Severo Unzue and Doctor Díaz Enparanza.
According to the Bilbao City Council, the operation of Severo Unzué is the "largest" of those currently being carried out in this area, from the point of view of the surface area and the number of homes generated in this area.
In order to carry out this work, 10 industrial pavilions will be demolished, of which 8 are licensed, while twoothers are in the process.
